Delete Your Data

Right to Erasure

Under GDPR Article 17, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. EUnify makes this easy with both in-app options and a formal request process.

In-App Deletion (Fastest)

Delete your data instantly within the app:

1. Open Settings
   Go to Profile > Settings in EUnify.
2. Find Privacy Section
   Scroll to "Privacy & Data" or "Your Data."
3. Choose What to Delete
   Select from options below.
4. Confirm Deletion
   Read the warning and confirm to proceed.

Deletion Options

Clear Search History

Removes:

• Recent searches
• Search suggestions based on your activity

Keeps: Profile, comparisons, checklists

Clear Saved Comparisons

Removes:

• All saved comparison charts
• Comparison history

Keeps: Profile, checklists, search history

Clear Checklists

Removes:

• All application checklists
• Progress tracking
• Deadline reminders

Keeps: Profile, comparisons, search history

Reset Profile

Removes:

• Academic background
• Interests and preferences
• Budget settings

Keeps: Comparisons, checklists (but recommendations may change)

Clear All Data

Removes everything:

• Profile data
• Saved comparisons
• Checklists
• Search history
• All preferences

Returns the app to a fresh installation state.

Deleting the App

If you delete EUnify from your device:

• All local data is permanently removed
• No data remains on your device
• The app cannot recover deleted data

Formal Deletion Request

If you've interacted with our servers (e.g., submitted a support request or privacy request), you can request deletion of that data:

1. Visit Privacy Portal
   Go to portal.vaic.at/privacy-request
2. Select "Delete My Data"
   Choose the erasure request type.
3. Verify Identity
   Complete email verification and security questions.
4. Specify Scope
   Tell us what data you want deleted.
5. Submit Request
   We'll process within 30 days.

What Happens After Deletion

Immediate Effects

• Data is removed from your device immediately
• Server data is marked for deletion
• You receive confirmation

Server-Side Processing

For data on our servers (support/privacy requests):

• Active data is deleted within 30 days
• Backup systems are purged within 90 days
• You receive confirmation when complete

Data We May Retain

Even after deletion, we may retain certain data as required by law:

• Legal obligations: Records required for tax or legal compliance
• Dispute resolution: Data needed for ongoing legal matters
• Fraud prevention: Limited data to prevent abuse

Retained data is minimized and securely stored.

Verification for Deletion

We verify your identity before processing deletion requests to protect you from:

• Unauthorized deletion by someone pretending to be you
• Accidental deletion
• Malicious actors trying to erase your data

After Deletion: Fresh Start

After clearing all data or reinstalling, EUnify will:

1. Show the welcome/onboarding screens
2. Ask for age verification again
3. Let you set up a new profile
4. Start fresh with no history
