Download Your Data

You have the right to receive a copy of all personal data EUnify holds about you in a portable, machine-readable format. This is your GDPR Right to Data Portability (Article 20).

In-App Export (Recommended)

The fastest way to export your data is directly within the app:

1. Open EUnify
   Launch the app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Go to Profile
   Tap the Profile tab in the navigation.
3. Open Settings
   Tap the Settings or gear icon.
4. Find Privacy Section
   Scroll to "Privacy & Data" or "Your Data."
5. Tap "Export Data"
   Select the export option.
6. Choose Format
   Select JSON (machine-readable) or human-readable summary.
7. Save or Share
   Save to Files, share via email, or AirDrop to another device.

What's Included in Your Export

Your data export contains:

Profile Data

• Academic background
• Study interests
• Career goals
• Budget preferences
• Language settings
• Location preferences

Activity Data

• Saved comparisons
• Application checklists and progress
• Search history
• Bookmarked institutions
• Tour history

Settings

• App preferences
• Privacy settings
• Notification preferences

Export Format

JSON Format

A machine-readable format that:

• Can be imported into other apps
• Is easy for developers to work with
• Contains all data fields
• Includes Ed25519 digital signature for verification

Human-Readable Format

A summary that:

• Is easy to read and understand
• Shows your data in plain language
• Good for personal records

Data Verification

Exported data includes a digital signature (Ed25519) that:

• Proves the data came from EUnify
• Verifies data hasn't been tampered with
• Enables secure import if needed

Formal Data Access Request

If you need a formal response or cannot use the in-app export:

1. Visit our Privacy Request Portal
2. Select "Access My Data" as the request type
3. Complete identity verification
4. Submit your request

We will respond within 30 days with your complete data export.

Importing Data

If you've previously exported data and want to restore it:

1. Go to Settings
   Navigate to Profile > Settings > Privacy & Data.
2. Tap "Import Data"
   Select the import option.
3. Select Your Export File
   Choose the JSON file from your exports.
4. Verify Signature
   EUnify checks the digital signature automatically.
5. Confirm Import
   Review and confirm to restore your data.

Transferring to Another Device

To move your data to a new iPhone or iPad:

1. Export data on your old device
2. Save the export file (iCloud, email, or transfer directly)
3. Install EUnify on your new device
4. Import the export file
