Setting Up Your Profile
When you first open EUnify, you'll be guided through a brief setup process to personalize your experience. Here's what to expect:
-
Age VerificationConfirm you are at least 16 years old. This is required by EU regulations (GDPR Article 8) for data protection purposes.
-
Academic BackgroundShare your current education level and field of interest. This helps us show relevant programs and institutions.
-
Budget PreferencesSet your budget range for tuition and living costs. This filters out options that don't match your financial situation.
-
Location PreferencesTell us which countries or regions interest you most. You can always explore other areas later.
-
Language PreferencesSpecify which languages you speak or are willing to study in. Many EU programs offer courses in English.
Exploring the Main Interface
After setup, you'll land on the main interface. EUnify has four main sections:
Explore Tab
This is your starting point—an interactive map of Europe showing universities and cities. Tap markers to learn more, or use the floating search bar to find specific institutions.
Compare Tab
Select items to compare side-by-side. You can compare institutions, programs, cities, or even countries. Save your comparisons for later reference.
Checklists Tab
View and manage your application checklists. Generate new checklists for institutions you're interested in, and track your progress through the application process.
Profile Tab
Access your settings, preferences, and privacy controls. Export or delete your data here.
Your First Search
Ready to explore? Try searching for:
- An institution: "TU Munich", "Sorbonne", "TU Delft"
- A program: "Computer Science Masters", "Medicine"
- A city: "Amsterdam", "Berlin", "Barcelona"
- A country: "Netherlands", "Germany", "Sweden"
Tap any search result to dive deeper into details, programs, campus tours, and more.
Understanding Recommendations
EUnify may show personalized recommendations based on your profile. These are:
- Transparent: Tap "Why am I seeing this?" to understand the ranking factors
- Rule-based: We use simple algorithms, not opaque machine learning
- Unbiased: No institution pays for better placement in our rankings
Saving Your Progress
All your data—saved comparisons, checklists, and preferences—is stored locally on your device. There's no account to create and nothing to sync. Your research is private and always accessible, even offline.
