EUnify is built with privacy at its core. We believe you should be able to research universities without being tracked, profiled, or having your data sold. Here's exactly what data EUnify handles and why.
Data That Stays on Your Device
The following data is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers:
Profile Information

- Academic background
- Study interests and career goals
- Budget preferences
- Language and location preferences
App Activity
- Saved comparisons
- Application checklists
- Search history
- Bookmarked institutions
- Tour progress

Data We May Process
In limited circumstances, some data may be processed:
Analytics (Session-Level Only)
If you opt in to analytics, we collect:
- App usage patterns (anonymized)
- Feature usage statistics
- Crash reports
Important: We do NOT track you across sessions. Each session is completely anonymous with no persistent user identifier.
Support Requests
If you contact support, we process:
- Your email address
- The content of your message
- Device/app version information (if you include it)
Privacy Requests
When you exercise GDPR rights, we process:
- Your name and email for verification
- The type of request
- Request status and communication
University & City Data
EUnify contains information about universities, programs, and cities. This data:
- Comes from publicly available sources
- Is downloaded from our servers and cached locally on your device
- Is NOT personalized to you
- Syncs automatically when updates are available (if connected to internet)
What We Don't Do
EUnify explicitly does NOT:
- Track you across apps: No cross-app tracking or advertising IDs
- Create persistent profiles: No user ID that follows you between sessions
- Sell your data: We never sell personal data to third parties
- Share for advertising: No data sharing with advertisers
- Use invasive tracking: No fingerprinting, no tracking pixels
- Require accounts: No mandatory sign-up to use the app
Data Sharing
We share data only with:

Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- Local storage encryption: Device-level encryption on iOS
- EU-based servers: All server communication uses EU-hosted infrastructure
- App Attest: Secure verification for all server communication
- Ed25519 signatures: Data import/export verification
Data Freshness
University and city data has different update cycles:
