Refund & Cancellation Policy

How to cancel subscriptions, request refunds, and understand your consumer rights for paid services.

1. How to Cancel

1.1 Cancellation Methods

You can cancel your subscription at any time through:

  • Account Settings: Navigate to Settings → Subscription → Cancel
  • Support: Contact support@vaicat.com
  • App Store: For iOS subscriptions, manage through Apple Settings

1.2 Effect of Cancellation

When you cancel:

  • You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
  • No further charges will be made for future billing periods
  • Your account reverts to free tier features after the period ends
  • Your data is retained according to our Privacy Policy

2. Automatic Renewal

2.1 Disclosure

At checkout, you are informed:

  • Whether the subscription renews automatically
  • The renewal period (monthly, annual, etc.)
  • The renewal price
  • How to cancel before renewal

2.2 Renewal Process

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Renewal charges are made using your saved payment method
  • You receive notification before renewal (where required by law)

2.3 Price Changes

If we change subscription prices:

  • We provide at least 30 days advance notice
  • New prices apply to future billing periods only
  • You may cancel before the new price takes effect

3. EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland Withdrawal Rights

3.1 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. This period starts from the day the contract is concluded.

3.2 How to Withdraw

To exercise your withdrawal right:

  1. Notify us of your decision to withdraw within 14 days
  2. Use our withdrawal form or send a clear statement via email
  3. No reason is required

3.3 Digital Services Exception

For digital content or services with immediate access:

  • You may consent to performance beginning before the withdrawal period expires
  • By doing so, you acknowledge that your withdrawal right is lost once the service is fully provided
  • This consent is requested explicitly at checkout

4. Refund Processing

4.1 Payment Method

Refunds are issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction.

4.2 Timeline

We process refunds without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your valid withdrawal request.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

5.1 No Refunds For

Refunds are generally not provided for:

  • Fully used subscription periods
  • Accounts terminated for policy violations
  • Promotional or discounted plans marked as non-refundable
  • Services after withdrawal rights have been waived

5.2 Statutory Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law. Where local law provides greater protection, those rights prevail.

6. App Store Subscriptions

6.1 iOS (Apple App Store)

For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store:

  • Billing is managed by Apple
  • Cancel through iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
  • Refund requests must go through Apple
  • Apple's refund policies apply

6.2 Android (Google Play)

For subscriptions purchased through Google Play:

  • Billing is managed by Google
  • Cancel through Play Store → Subscriptions
  • Refund requests follow Google's policies
